VShell Server for Windows and UNIX description

The VShell Secure Shell server is a secure alternative to Telnet and FTP on Windows and UNIX platforms. VShell provides the strong encryption, robust authentication, and data integrity of SSH2(TM) throughout your organization. Precision control over privileges, the ability to fine-tune your Secure Shell environment, and a wide selection of strong authentication methods give you a flexible solution that grows with your evolving security policies.

Extend your network to securely include remote offices, mobile employees, partners, and customers. Access Control Lists allow you to assign the right mix of shell access, file transfer, and application data tunneling to users and groups. Centralized server configuration, options for Kerberos via GSSAPI, end user public-key upload, and triggers for automation of routine tasks reduce hassles for busy system administrators.

Integrate this strong security with your existing infrastructure to support enterprise-wide authentication that goes beyond weak password authentication. VShell includes built-in support for both Kerberos v5 via GSSAPI and public-key authentication.

VShell is a Secure Shell (SSH2) server that is simple to implement, from a proven commercial vendor who will provide you with the quality technical support you need.

VShell is licensed in three editions: Personal, Workgroup, and Enterprise.

VShell for UNIX introductory pricing is available through September 30, 2003.

New in VShell 2.2:
-Kerberos v5 authentication via GSSAPI. As an emerging standard, this adds to your foundation for interoperability while enhancing the security of enterprise-wide network authentication.
-Specify listening address. On a multi-homed machine, control which NIC VShell listens on to better lock down access to the server.
-Command-line utilities. VShell now includes vsh (command-line shell utility), vcp (command-line file transfer utility), and vkeygen (public/private key generator utility).
-Jail shell. Two configuration options, ChrootGroups and ChrootUsers, combine to restrict users and members of groups to their home directory with any shell or subsystem operation.
