Most major Payroll, EFT and Human Resource Software allow you to create text file reports. As Human resource professionals we frequently need to find specific text strings in these reports in relation to employee benefits or salary payment amounts. Easy Text File Search can search through selected text files for up to two user defined strings.
'Easy Text File Search' can be used to search a flat-file database, a spreadsheet saved as text or even a CD collection with each CD written on a separate line. Lists of products or items can be copied from other documents into a text file and then searched with 'Easy Text File Search' as if they were a database. Ordinary text files become searchable databases.
All matching records are clearly displayed to the user. 'Easy Text File Search' has a number of features that can be customised for your environment.
Option to set initial search directory.
Option to include search directory subdirectories.
Option to search for text strings in case sensitive mode.
Option to search for complete words or partial strings.
Search for two strings in the same document. Successful documents must contain both of the search strings.
Option to set a search filter, to limit the number of text files searched.
Search filter uses * and ? wildcard keys.
Search results are displayed in their own window, with date and file size information.
Simple double click on a selected file in the search results to open that file.
All settings are saved automatically, so that you don't need to reconfigure the application each time you use it.
